President Tinubu Appoints RCCG Pastor, Ola Olukoyode As EFCC Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has decided to appoint a RCCG pastor, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, as the new Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This move was announced by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.

According to Vanguard, in accordance with Section 2(3) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act, 2004, President Tinubu holds the authority to appoint the Chairman and members of the Commission, excluding ex-officio members.

Mr. Ola Olukoyede brings with him an impressive background as a lawyer and has garnered over 22 years of experience as a regulatory compliance consultant and specialist in fraud management and corporate intelligence.

What sets him apart is his familiarity with the EFCC’s operations. He previously served as the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman of the Commission from 2016 to 2018 and subsequently as the Commission’s Secretary from 2018 to 2023.

He hails from Ikere-Ekiti, making him an indigene of Ekiti State. His educational background is equally impressive, having earned degrees from Lagos State University and the University of Lagos. He also studied at the Institute of Arbitration in Paris, France, and the University of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Executive Education.

In addition to his legal expertise, he is a devout man serving as a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). This combination of spiritual insight and professional acumen should undoubtedly guide his leadership of the EFCC.
