The Daily Fountain Devotional of the Church Of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) 14 March 2024 – Knowing The Lord Of Miracle

TOPIC: Knowing The Lord Of Miracle

READ: John 9:35-41 (NKJV)

  1. Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, “Do you believe in the Son of God?”
  2. He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?”
  3. And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.”
  4. Then he said, “Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him.
  5. And Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.”
  6. Then [some] of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, “Are we blind also?”
  7. Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.

THE MESSAGE:

Many people have received diverse blessings without actually knowing the Lord who has so graciously bestowed the blessings on them. It is important to note that there can be no lasting glory without knowing the Lord. The healed blind man had just been delivered from the jungle of perpetual darkness and brought into a new life of glorious light, yet, he did not know, neither cared to ask about the person who did this great thing for him. However, Jesus did not abandon him to perish in ignorance. He made Himself known to the man and he quickly surrendered to the Lordship of Christ and right away, became a believer and follower of Christ. What a grateful heart!

In the same vein, we who have received the grace and blessings of God to be alive, should show our gratitude by making Him the Lord of our lives. Jesus should be the Ruler of our businesses and finances so that we can enjoy His lasting glory and have our hearts filled with the joy of salvation. It is unpleasant to note that many professing Christians today attend Church services and programmes mainly to receive different blessings and miracles, without actually seeking to know Jesus, the Master of glory.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, please teach me to acknowledge You as the reason for my blessings, Amen.
