The Lagos state government has given a 30 days ultimatum to occupants of building illegally converted to churches, mosques, and many others.

The government has sent a warning to the land owners to revert the building as they failed to follow the right process by getting approval for land change of use.

According to the General Manager of the State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Gbolahan Owodunni Oki, the Ultimatum given says land owners must revert to the original use of the building.

According to Oki, he said; “We are giving them one month’s final notice from today 29th of January to revert all properties converted to Churches, Mosques, clubs and bars to revert to the original plan or have such buildings removed at their expenses.”

Oki revealed that LASBCA had earlier identified the illegal structures and have served the statutory enforcement notices but those affected have failed or refused to respond to the notices, hence, the service of the final notice.
