The socioeconomic hardship and insecurity of the country could not resist thousands of worshippers from Nigeria and the Diaspora to be part of the 18th edition of the leading gospel concert, “The Experience” in the country.
The venue of the marathon praise concert, Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), as usual, was filled to its extensions as people were lost in praise and expressed gratitude to God.
The 11 hours praise night witnessed both the first-timer and regular gospel ministers as they led the crowd to honour the King of Glory in different tongues and unusual ways.
Gospel ministers that performed at the event with the theme, “Jesus Our Way Maker,” last Friday, include Travis Greene, Naomi Raine, Nathaniel Bassey, Sinach, Dunsin Oyekan, Donnie McClurkin, William McDowell, Ada Ehi, Tim Godfrey, OnosAriyo, Prinx Emmanuel, Moses Bliss, Mr M & Revelation, Tope Alabi, Timi Dakolo, and The Lagos Metropolitan Gospel Choir accompanied by the Rock Cathedral Gospel Choir, among others.
The first-timer gospel minister, Adeyinka Alaseyori, with her classical performance, stole the show with her endeared lyrics as both the host and huge crowd went wild for the Lord.
According to the convener, the Senior Pastor of the House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, noted that the event was not merely a night of exhilarating praise and worship, but a catalyst for a purposeful cultural shift as well as a journey defined by faith, unity, collaboration, and transformative moments.
“The success of this journey can only be attributed to the power of The Almighty, who began and sustains what is now globally acclaimed as the biggest gathering of gospel music enthusiasts on the face of the earth.
“The theme of this year’s event has deep significance viewed against the backdrop of a very tumultuous and challenging year marked by severe socio-economic hardship and insecurity in the nation Nigeria. The Experience, in more ways than one, symbolises a beacon of hope piercing the darkness of pervasive hopelessness and feelings of desolation.
“We know that as our praises rise as an offering to the only one who can turn things around for us, His blessings will distill in divine intervention alighting like the morning dew upon us, our nation, and our shared future.
“Together, let’s forge a path where Nigeria stands as a beacon of positive change instigating a cultural metamorphosis guided by faith, unity, and the unwavering belief that when praises ascend, the purpose, plans, and power of God graciously descend with His abundant blessing,” he added.
