Elijah Oludele Abina, a Nigerian preacher who was one of the founding members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and the General Overseer of The Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT), was born on June 16, 1935. (PFN).
Early life
In Aradagun, Badagry, Lagos State, Nigeria, Elijah Ogundele Abina was born to Pa Abraham Akowanu Abina and Madam Omoloto Abina. Later, after severing his links to idol worship, he changed his middle name to Oludele. Along with Pastor Reuben George and his wife, Dupe George, David Akinremi, Meshack Akinola, Iwaku Bagere, Daniel Aluko, Olusegun George, Elkanah Obideyi, Solomon Kudoro, Richard Akapo, Dorcas Adeyemi, Mary Kudoro, Felicia Akinremi (who later became his wife), Janet Oke, and Dupe Akapo, he is one of the founding members of The Gospel Faith. Later, this fellowship expanded to develop into the current movement.
In October 1962, Pastor Abina resigned from his position as a non-ministerial employee of Arbico Limited in Apapa, Lagos, in response to a strong conviction from the Holy Spirit. He thereafter became a full-time minister with Gospel Faith Mission International. In 1963, he was the pastor in charge of the GOFAMINT Iwaya Church. In 1966, he was elevated to become the pastor in charge of the GOFAMINT Mushin Church. He was eventually designated as Pastor Reuben George’s deputy, and he diligently filled that role until Pastor George’s elevation to glory in 1987.
After Pastor George passed away, the Church’s Executive Council unanimously decided that Pastor Abina, the Deputy General Overseer, should take over as the church’s head. At the GOFAMINT International Gospel Center in Ojoo, Ibadan, Oyo State, he was consecrated on January 8, 1988

The Gospel Faith Mission International has grown significantly in terms of its membership, geographic reach, financial sturdiness, and organizational stability under Pastor Abina’s direction. The Mission now has over 2000 assemblies in Nigeria and other countries across the world, up from 50 in its early years.
Private life
On March 30, 1961, Pastor Abina wed Felicia Abina (née Akinremi). They have six kids altogether. Folorunsho, Olabisi, Funmilayo, Ebunoluwa, Gbenga, and Femi are their offspring. In June 2014, Matron Felicia Abina passed away. He is renowned for leading a humble life and displaying excellent Christian character.
