Early Life

Taiwo Odukoya, the founder of the Fountain of Life Church, was married to Abimbola Rosemary “Bimbo” Odukoya (née Segun-Williams; 12 September 1960–11 December 2005), a Nigerian pastor and televangelist.

Odukoya, also known as “Pastor Bims,” received more than 60 national and international honors for her leadership as a woman of high moral standards and a role model to many, as well as for her contributions to nation-building, the development of Nigeria, and the West African subregion. She was one of several people selected by Samsung to represent Nigeria in carrying the Olympic torch in Athens, Greece, at the 2004 Olympic Games. She is a writer, well-known televangelist, in-demand conference speaker, youth mentor, and marriage counselor. She lost her life as a result of the accident on Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145.

Personal Life

Tolu Odukoya, Jimmy Odukoya, and Tobi Odukoya are the three children of Pastor Bimbo and Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, the founding pastors of the Fountain of Life Church.

She was the president of Discovery for Women and the associate senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church at the time of her passing.

She served as the host of Single and Married, a local and worldwide television program that addresses real-world problems in marriage and relationships. The Bible’s teachings served as a general guide for the content. She was a well-known conference speaker in Nigeria and occasionally beyond the country.

Death

Aboard Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 from Abuja to Port Harcourt, Bimbo Odukoya Bimbo survived the initial collision but passed away from her injuries on December 11, 2005. The airliner crashed while landing at Port Harcourt International Airport on December 10, 2005. Her son, Othniel Jimmy Odukoya, oversees the continuation of her mission church program.
