HEALTH BENEFITS OF FRUIT SALAD

Christmas season may not been the best time for losing weight or controlling calorie intake as many homes prepared tempting recipes that are full of calories and fat enriched dishes that could be difficult to resist. Nevertheless here is a recipe for those that want to cleanse the bowel system from unhealthy diets that were consumed during the period. Today’s recipe is simply fruit salad.

This salad is made from combinations of various types of raw fruits like apple, grape, pawpaw, orange, tangerine and watermelon. Fruits are nature’s wonderful gifts to mankind. They are life-enhancing medicines packed with vitamins A, B1, B2, C, E, potassium folate (folic acid), iron, dietary fibre, antioxidants, phytochemicals (non-nutritive plant chemicals) which  promote good health, cleanse the bowel, detoxify harmful substances in the body and make one look younger.

Ingredients    Quantities

Pawpaw          1 small size

Grapes            200g

Apples            2 medium size

Orange           1 medium size

Tangerine       3 medium size

Method of preparation

Squeeze the orange and reserve the juice.

Peel and chop the pawpaw, watermelon into various shapes.

Peel and separate the tangerine into segment.

Wash and clean the remaining fruit.

Place the chopped fruits in a deep serving bowl.

Add the orange juice.

Refrigerate for some minutes.

Serve cold and enjoy.
